Creating a Test Alert
To create a test alert for one of your servers, go to the server and shut down the
SNMP service. If the HP TopTools Auto Alert application is running this should
generate the following alert at your console.

Although the server is still running, this message will tell you that the SNMP
service on the server is no longer running. After receiving this message, restart the
SNMP service on the server and you should receive another message confirming
that the service (server) is back on line.
