where x: is the CD-ROM drive containing the HP NetServer Navigator
CD-ROM and language is an abbreviation for your local language
(US=English, FR=French, GE=German, IT=Italian, SP=Spanish,
JP=Japanese).
2. Follow the instructions on the screen to:
à Choose what to install (NetServer Agents and Instant TopTools, or
Instant TopTools only)
à Display a list of your Window servers
à Select the servers you wish to manage
à Have the setup program install the agent software on those servers
à Have the setup program reboot the servers to start the appropriate agent
services
NOTE During this installation the server must reboot itself twice to
install and properly initialize the agents. This installation period
may take several minutes to complete.
à Confirm that agent installation was successful by noting the list of
servers in the "Results" window. You should save this list for later
reference. To save the list, click Save to File and save the file with a
name and in a location of your choice.
• If you have HP NetServers running Novell NetWare servers, next
install the HP NetServer Agents for NetWare. Follow the instructions in the
next section.
• If you have HP NetServers running SCO UNIX servers, install the HP
NetServer Agents for SCO UNIX. Follow the instructions in "Installing On
SCO UNIX Servers," later in this chapter.
• If you don't have any HP NetServers running NetWare or SCO UNIX,
proceed to Part 3, "Install the HP TopTools Auto Alert Console Software."
Installing on Novell NetWare Servers
To install the HP NetServer Agents and DMI software automatically on all the
NetWare servers that you want to monitor, you must run the agent installation
program from a network computer running Windows.
