Part 2. Install HP NetServer Agents and Instant
TopTools Software
If you use the HP NetServer Navigator CD-ROM to aid you in the initial
installation of the Network Operating System on your HP NetServer, you may use
HP's automated NOS Installation utility to install the HP NetServer Agents and
DMI software on HP NetServers that will run the Windows NT, 2000 and Novell
NetWare operating systems. Note that installing the NetServer Agents also installs
the Instant TopTools software on your HP NetServer.
If you chose not to install the agents during the initial setup of the HP NetServer,
you must install them before you can use HP TopTools since the agent software
collects and relays network information about your HP NetServers.
In most cases, you can install the HP NetServer Agents and DMI software from
your console. The installation program can automatically copy, or "push," the
agents onto all the HP NetServers on your network. You must, however, install the
agents manually on each HP NetServer running SCO UNIX.
If you have HP NetServers running Windows NT or 2000, follow the
instructions in "Installing on Windows NT Servers."
If you have HP NetServers running Novell NetWare, follow the
instructions in "Installing on Novell NetWare Servers."
If you have HP NetServers running SCO UNIX, follow the instructions
in "Installing on SCO UNIX Servers."
