IO error reports when iSCSI service start (OL5.8)
When booting from the LUN of a hardware iSCSI initiator HBA, the system will find the rootfs,
but when the iSCSI service starts up, many input/output errors may be reported. When this
occurs, the rootfs will become read only, and a user cannot login to the system. Oracle plans
to release a patched iSCSI utility package to resolve this issue sometime in the future.
Known Issues with UEK2.6.32-300:
During crash dump, loading microcode.ko module may take a significant amount of time
(OL6.2)
During crash dump, UEK will load microcode.ko. The loading process will take one minute
per CPU, therefore a large logical processor system may need 1 to 2 hours to fully load. A
normal system boot will not exhibit this issue and will behave normally. To avoid the long load
time during crash dump, you must upgrade the kexec-tools package to
kexec-tools-2.0.0-209.0.2.el6 via the ULN.
Kernel panic may occur during crash dump to a Fibre Channel LUN of CN1000E (OL6.2)
When a Fibre Channel LUN of CN1000E is setup as the target for crash dump, a kernel panic
may occur on loading of the lpfc driver during a crash dump.
To avoid this, upgrade UEK to either the 2.6.32-300.20.1 or UEK2.6.39-100 kernel via the
ULN.
All LUNs of Brocade Fibre Channel HBA cannot be presented (OL5.7, OL5.8)
OL5.7 and OL5.8 do not contain the necessary Brocade firmware packages. As a result, all
Brocade HBAs will not function.
To enable the Brocade FC HBAs, which use the bfa driver, you must upgrade the UEK to
2.6.39-100 kernel or the bfa-firmware package to bfa-firmware-3.0.2.2-1 via the ULN.
Only one port of NC382T will initially be operational (OL5.7 and OL5.8)
With a HP NC382T network adapter installed, only one port of the NC382T will be
operational, as the other port will not be presented. Reloading the bnx2 driver will provide
a workaround for this issue.
HP NC530SFP is not recognized (OL5.8)
When the HP NC530SFP adapter is installed, the UEK 2.6.32-300.10.1 will not recognize
the adapter, and therefore the adapter will not function. To enable the HP NC530SFP, you
must upgrade the kernel to UEK 2.6.32-300.21.1 via the ULN.
Known Issues with UEK2.6.32-200:
During crash dump, hpwdt reports an NMI occurred (OL5.7)
When triggering a crash dump on OL5.7 with UEK2.6.32-200, the system may hang after
the following message is printed:
hpwdt: An NMI occurred, but unable to determine source
To avoid the potential hang during crash dump, you must upgrade the UEK kernel to
2.6.32-300.
Only one port of NC382T will initially be operational (OL5.7 and OL5.8)
With a HP NC382T network adapter installed, only one port of the NC382T will be
operational, as the other port will not be presented. Reloading the bnx2 driver will provide
a workaround for this issue.
