3 Using HP Management Base Utilities
This chapter describes how to use the HP Management Base command-line utilities.
All utilities have manpages. See Appendix B (page 20).
NOTE: For all the HP Management Base manpages, you can display a synopsis of options and
directives by entering the following:
command -?
where command is the name of the command.
hpia64info—Reports IPMI Information
Syntax
hpia64info
The hpia64info utility lists information obtained from the IPMI Baseboard Management
Controller (BMC) on HP Integrity Servers. This information is a fixed set in a fixed format and
is used primarily by other HP tools.
hpmodel—Reports Hardware Model Information
NOTE: The hpmodel utility is available only with HP Management Base version 2.1 and later.
Syntax
/opt/hp/hpmgmtbase/bin/hpmodel [-a] [-imprsuw]
hpmodel reads the system firmware's SMBIOS table to obtain information on HP Integrity
servers. The following command options enable you to report system Universally Unique
Identifier (UUID), product model name, version, wake-up type, serial number, manufacturer,
and platform type:
-a
Displays all system information obtained from the system table in SMBIOS.
-i
Displays platform type string (ia64, i686, i386, and so on).
-m
Displays system manufacturer.
-p
Displays system product name.
-r
Displays system product version.
-s
Displays system serial number.
-u
Displays system UUID.
-w
Displays wake-up type (LAN remote, Power Switch, Modem Ring, and so on).
