Virtual switch
The vmnic settings may change according to the networking options ordered with the appliance.
Data storage layout
There are three storage groups:
• datastore1, local data store, system software and VM templates
• datastorelarge, HANA database virtual disk and virtual machine images configuration files
• fusion-io, HANA log virtual disks
Storage use is as follows:
• P410i (boot controller) for the ESXi hypervisor (logical drive 299GB) and a local default datastore (datastore1).
• P812 (25 drives RAID 50, logical drive of 5.99 TB) as a datastore for the virtual machines system disk and virtual
machines /HANA/data disk, and some space for virtual machine configuration files (datastorelarge).
• Two Fusion-io devices, fct0 and fct1, that show up in the VMware storage manager. 785GB (less when
formatted). These are used for the virtual machines HANA log disks.
• From the management server, view the storage adapters.
The following figure shows what the storage looks like from the vSphere Storage tab: two adapters for Fusion-io,
fioiom0 and fioiom1.
