Description HP StoreOpen Standalone LTFS (Linear Tape File System) makes tape self-describing, file-based, and easy-to-use and provides users with the ability to use standard file operations on tape media for accessing, managing and sharing files with an interface that behaves as a hard disk. In addition, HP LTFS provides the ability to share data across platforms, as you would with a USB drive or memory stick. Update recommendation Update recommended Supersede information Supersedes: Version 2.1.
• Added support for RHEL 6.5 and RHEL 5.10 • Added support for Windows 2012 R2 and Windows 8.1 • Fixed defects in Windows and Mac GUI • Fixed defects in Windows Installer Fixes Issues and workarounds • HP has determined that HP StoreOpen Standalone software for Windows is not compatible with systems that have Apple iTunes installed. This is due to a filter driver installed as part of iTunes, which prevents correct control of the tape device.
a. Unzip the package: $ gunzip b. Unpack into the root directory: $ tar xvf -C / c. d. This will place four executables in /usr/local/bin/ (ltfs, mkltfs, ltfsck, unltfs). It will also place a number of dynamic libraries in /usr/local/lib/ and in a new subdirectory called /usr/local/lib/ltfs/. On some systems, trying to execute the ltfs command may result in an error message of the form libltfs.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.
