Introduction
Purpose of this document
This document provides specific installation instructions and other information you should know before
you install and use the printing-system software. The installation instructions are for the following
operating systems:

Windows 2000 (printer driver only)
●
Windows XP (32-bit and 64-bit)
●
Windows Server 2003 (32-bit and 64-bit)
●
Windows Vista™ (32-bit and 64-bit)
For instructions for other systems, see the associated install notes, readme files, or other product
information for that system. For more information about the product and printer-driver features, see the
HP LaserJet P2050 Series Printer User Guide and the online help included with each software
component.
System requirements
The following are compatible system requirements for Windows and Macintosh:

Windows 2000: 333 MHz processor with 64 MB RAM
●
Windows XP: 333 MHz processor with 128 MB RAM
●
Windows Server 2003: 550 MHz processor with 128 MB RAM (Standard Edition)
●
220 MB of available hard-disk space
●
CD-ROM drive or Internet connection
●
Dedicated universal serial bus (USB 2.0) connectivity port or network connection
Overview of the printing system components
The CD that is included with the product has software for Windows operating systems and Apple
Macintosh operating systems. For more information about a particular printer driver or software
component, see the associated online help.
