If you have just changed some of the networking configuration
and find that you no longer have access to HD Server Admin to
fix the configuration, you can do the following:
a. Go into setup mode on the servers control panel and try
setting the IP parameters again. (See Setup Mode on
page 3-2 and the table of parameters on page 3-6.)
b. If those changes are insufficient to get access to HD Server
Admin, then you can reset all the default network settings and
begin configuration all over again as if the server is being
installed for the first time. Use the Reset to First Time
Defaults Procedure on page 6-7.
Firmware Fails
to Run
If during startup the control panel freezes on one of the following
displays:
Power off and start up the server with the alternative firmware
image. (The alternative version is stored in Flash memory. Once
you have updated the firmware version, this alternative is the
previous version.) The procedure is the following.
First, switch power off. Wait at least 10 seconds for the disk drives
to stop spinning. Switch power on, and immediately press the
button and hold until the control panel displays
Entering Boot
Mode
. When you release the
button, the following will be
displayed. Then begin with step 3 of the procedure Switching to
the Backup Image on page 10-3.
If the alternate image has the same failure, call HP support per
appendix A, Getting Support.
