Failure/Warning
Status in
HD Server Admin
If you see a status of
“Failure”
or
“Warning”
on a
Status
page or
Disk Setup
page in HD Server Admin, then go to page 11-5. The
problems and solutions are described in the section “Check Status
in HD Server Admin”.
Writing/Reading
Data Fails
1. In HD Server Admin (use a workstation on the network and see
page 4-3 to 4-4), go to the
Status

Summary
page. If any
disks show an error condition, then skip to step 3.
2. In HD Server Admin, go to the
Status
Æ
Event Log
page and
check for volume error messages.
3. At the server, check the Drive power and Drive activity lights.
Compare them to the tables on page 11-2 and page 11-4.
4. Check the control panel display for alerts. Follow the instructions
in “Alerts on Control Panel” on page 11-7.
5. If the above show no problems, restart the server. See “Restart”
on page 11-18.
6. If the read or write fails again, then in HD Server Admin go to the
Configuration

Disk Setup
page, click the volume, and click the
[Check Volume]
button. Refer to “Check File System” on page 11-6.
7. Shut down the server (page 11-17) and make sure all drives are
properly seated. Restart the server (page 11-18).
8. If the read or write fails again, then a drive may have failed. Call
HP support per appendix A “Getting Support” for a replacement
part. To replace it, see “Replace Disk Drive Module” on
page 11-23.
