Viewing and configuring system message logs

Viewing system messages from Web Tools
To view the system message log for a switch from Web Tools, perform the following steps.
1. Launch Web Tools.
2. Select the desired switch from the Fabric Tree. The Switch View displays.
3. Click the Switch Events button. A Switch Events Report displays.
4. View the switch events and messages.
In dual-domain switches, an Event button exists for each logical switch. Only messages relating to
that switch (and chassis) will be displayed.
Dumping system messages
To display the system message log with no page breaks, perform the following steps.
1. Log in to the switch as admin.
2. Enter the errDump command at the command line:
switch:admin> errDump

Viewing system messages one message at a time
To display the system message log one message at a time, perform the following steps.
1. Log in to the switch as admin.
2. At the command line, enter the errShow command:
switch:admin> errShow
