HP P6000 1GbE iSCSI and 10GbE iSCSI/FCoE Firmware Release Notes (5697-3242, March 2014)

iSCSI/FCoE module FCoE presented target mappings sometimes fail to recover after power
is cycled.
iSCSI and iSCSI/FCoE modules support capture files are sometimes incomplete.
Operational notes
Aborts may be observed by Linux iSCSI initiators when a iSCSI target queue-full under run condition
response occurs. This occasional abort condition, which will result in a retried operation, is an
expected response.
Using Command View to set the iSCSI controller TCP MTU to OTHER values returns an error for
the iSCSI module's GE3 port. Use the CLI set iscsi 3 command to work around this issue,
which is resolved by P6000 Command View revision 10.2 and later revisions.
Operating systems for iSCSI and FCoE

Prerequisites
See the HP P6000 Enterprise Virtual Array Compatibility Reference for dependencies.
This firmware release is the fourth post production firmware update and fixes are immediately
required. Enhancements in this release also include features that are enabled when combined with
the XCS1120000 or later revision release and P6000 Command View 10.3 or later release.
The iSCSI module's boot loader versions 1.1.1.9 and 1.1.1.10 are supported.
Installation instructions
For information about installing the P6000 iSCSI and iSCSI/FCoE firmware, see the HP
P6300/P6500 Enterprise Virtual Array User Guide and the HP P6300/P6500 Enterprise Virtual
Array Installation Guide.

Windows registry modifications
CAUTION: Use the Registry Editor at your own risk. Using it incorrectly can cause serious problems
that require reinstallation of the operating system. Be sure to back up the registry before making
any changes. If using a method other than the HP P6000 iSCSI/FCoE and MPX200 Multifunction
Router kit to update, Tcp1323Opts and Disk TimeOutValue must be added to the registry.
Timestamps enable TCP to accurately measure round-trip time (RTT) to adjust retransmission timeouts.
The timestamps option provides two 4-byte timestamp fields in the TCP header. One field records
the time of the initial transmission and the other field records the time on the remote host.
IMPORTANT: When Windows iSCSI initiator is installed from the HP P6000 iSCSI/FCoE and
MPX200 Multifunction Router kit, Tcp1323Opts is added to the registry automatically.
There are two methods to add Tcp1323Opts to the registry. HP recommends using the first method.
Method 1
To enable timestamps, under HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters, set
the Tcp1323Opts entry to REG_DWORD = 2.
