.
5. Click Yes to continue.
The FC & GigE Port Selection screen displays.
6. Select the FC/GE ports to configure. Optionally, you may enter the GE Port Speed & Mode settings;
HP recommends using the Auto setting. Click Next to continue.. Click Next to continue.
nl
The Local & Remote IP Address screen displays.
7. Enter the local GE port IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and the IP address of the remote mpx110.
Click Next to continue.
The TCP/IP Options screen displays.
8. Select the appropriate options for your configuration and ensure that the same options are selected on
the remote port as well. Click Next to continue.
The FCIP Option screen displays.
9. Select the appropriate options for your configuration and ensure that the same options are selected on
the remote port as well. Click Finish to continue.
The Security Check screen displays.
10. Enter the admin password (default password is config). Click OK to continue.
A message displays, indicating that the adding FCIP routes process is now complete.
8 Configure Fibre Channel switch settings for the mpx110
Execute the commands in Table 1 for all switches that will use the FCIP link.
For B-series Fibre Channel Switches:
Table 1 Settings for B-series switches
HP Continuous Access stor-
age system
Command
EVA and XPB-Switch# switchdisable
EVA and XPB-Switch# iodset
EVA onlyB-Switch# aptpolicy [1 or 3] (See Note below.)
EVA and XPB-Switch# portCfgISLMode [
slot
/
port
] ,1 (set for all mpx110 switch ports)
EVA and XPB-Switch# portCfgGport [
slot
/
port
] ,1 (set for all mpx110 switch ports)
EVA and XPB-Switch# switchenable
Execute the commands in Table 2 for each VSAN that will use the FCIP link. Enter configuration commands,
one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
For C-series Fibre Channel switches:
Table 2 Settings for C-series switches
HP Continuous Access stor-
age system
Command
EVA and XPC-Switch# config
EVA and XP
C-Switch(config)# in-order-guarantee VSAN # (where # stands for all VSANs
that use the FCIP link)
EVA onlyC-Switch(config)# vsan database
EVA only
C-Switch(config-vsan-db)# vsan # loadbalancing src-dst-id (where # stands
for all VSANs that use the FCIP link)
nl
(See Note below.)
EVA onlyC-Switch(config-vsan-db)# exit
EVA and XPC-Switch(config)# exit
EVA and XPC-Switch# copy run start
NOTE:
For B-series Fibre Channel switches, specify 1 for port-based routing (all XCS versions) or 3 for
exchange-based routing (XCS 09534000 or later).
For C-series Fibre Channel switches, specify src-dst-id for port-based routing (all XCS versions)
or src-dst-ox-id for exchangebased routing (XCS 09534000 or later)
For H-series Fibre Channel switches, the default H-series switch settings. The H-series switches
employ exchange-based routing, therefore, Continuous Access EVA support with H-series switches
requires EVA XCS 09534000 or later and HP SCSI FC Compliant Data Replication Protocol.
For port-based routing, set the Continuous Access EVA data replication protocol to HP FC Data
Replication Protocol.
For exchange-based routing, use the HP SCSI FC Compliant Data Replication Protocol.
9 Cable the mpx110 Fibre Channel, GE and management
ports
Follow these steps to cable the mpx110:
1. Connect the management port cable to your Ethernet network that is accessible from the management
server running the mpx Manager GUI.
2. Connect cables to GE1, GE2, FC1, and FC2 as shown in the suggested configurations in Figure 1,
Figure 2, or Figure 3.
NOTE:
Use a standard Cat 5e straight network cable to connect mpx110 GE ports to an IP switch port. Use
a Cat 5e crossover network cable when directly connecting two mpx110s through their respective
GE ports without an IP switch.
10 Verify FCIP links & firmware version
1. See the HP website: http://www.hp.com/go/san to determine if a firmware upgrade is necessary;
upgrade accordingly.
2. Use the CLI or the GUI Ping command to verify FCIP Link connectivity.
3. Verify Fibre Channel switches have established an ISL over the FCIP Link.
