Description
These release notes discuss issues and their potential workarounds, and important information regarding
HP Intelligent Provisioning.
Intelligent Provisioning is one of the embedded management features of the HP iLO Management
Engine, and is a single-server deployment tool embedded in all HP ProLiant Gen8 servers. Intelligent
Provisioning supplies most drivers required for your operating system.
Intelligent Provisioning replaces the SmartStart CDs and Smart Update Firmware DVD shipped with
previous generation HP ProLiant servers. The CDs and DVD do not ship with HP ProLiant Gen8 servers.

Product models
Intelligent Provisioning supports HP ProLiant Gen8 servers.
HP ProLiant SL and SE servers do not support operating system installations with Intelligent Provisioning.
These servers do support the maintenance features described in the Perform Maintenance Options
section of the HP Intelligent Provisioning User Guide and online help.
Operating systems and devices
Supported operating systems and devices are listed in the support matrix for the server. The components
supported for each server are listed in the HP Intelligent Provisioning Server Support Guide.
NOTE: Intelligent Provisioning does not support all server-supported operating systems, including
32-bit Windows operating systems.
