HP Intelligent Infrastructure Analyzer Software v2.2 Release Notes
Limitations
• Virtual Connect Fibre Channel (VCFC) module will be discovered during switch discovery but
it is not supported for data collection.
• HP IIAS supports only one connection per device. If you concurrently run discovery and data
collection of a switch you may get the following error: Maximum permissible
connections have exceeded. In this case, you can retry the operation after data collection
has completed.
Known Issues and workaround

SolutionImpactIssues
The user is not redirected to the login
screen if the Back button is pressed on
Pressing Back button on detailed
inventory page does not go to the
login screen. the detailed inventory page, instead
the user is redirected to the previous
screen.
Ignore the rediscovered event messages
for switches.
This has no impact on the functionality. When an inferred switch is
reconnected in the SAN either through
a reboot or through connectivity, a
switch rediscovered event message
will appear in the events section
If possible upgrade the switch firmware
to the latest firmware supported by
switch and try discovery.
User will not be able to see the
connectivity for this switch in topology
and also this switch will not be listed
in inventory.
HP IIAS is not able to discover
Brocade switches with firmware
versions 3.0.2 a and 5.1.0.
In such cases, manually verify the
connectivity through Switch command
in such cases.
Associated Topology connectivity will
not show as ISL connection.
When a B series and H series
switches are connected using a TR
port, topology will display connectivity
through any of the SAN components
such as FC HBA, or a storage port,
instead of showing the connectivity
between the switches.
Under such situations, for attached port
information, refer the detailed inventory
or topology screen(using tool tip).
Connectivity information has to be
tracked through some other means.
Generally diagnostic event messages
in situations such as a degraded SFP
indicates port information where the
SFP is degraded and also the attached
port information. However, it has been
observed that on rare occasions, the
source port information is shown
whereas the attached port information
is not shown.
Manually verify the connectivity status
between discovered/monitored devices
and unknown devices.
Black color link is meant to be shown
only for ISL connectivity and hence
gives an incorrect impression to the
user.
Link between a discovered/monitored
device and an unknown device(device
which HP IIAS does not recognize) is
shown with black color.
Restart the HP IIAS client service.User will not be able to connect to HP
IIAS with a new browser session.
When a browser connected to HP IIAS
is closed using right click option from
the toolbar, the session does not get
terminated.
Switch inventory displays the Ethernet
port attached device details. User needs
Port count/used port list displays only
FC and FCoE ports.
Ethernet port count, not shown in used
port count for 5900 series switches.
to manually count the Ethernet port
using Ethernet port attached device.
