Power monitoring
Using Insight Control power management, you can track overall power use from multiple servers and use
this information to set power caps on groups of servers.
Integration with deployment tools
You may use different deployment tools, depending on what type of servers you are deploying:
HP Insight Control server deployment (previously known as RDP) for a Windows-based Central
Management Sever (CMS) that manages servers running Windows, Linux and VMware operating
systems (http://h18013.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/deployment-migration.html)
HP Insight Control for Linux for a Linux-based CMS that manages servers running Linux and VMware
operating systems (http://www.hp.com/go/insightcontrolforlinux)
You use these tools in conjunction with the HP SmartStart Scripting Toolkit
(http://h18013.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/toolkit/index.html) to configure iLO 3
processors or use iLO 3 capabilities to configure servers. For example, you can automatically power off
servers, mount virtual CD images, and power on servers to deploy an OS to multiple servers. Or you can
browse to an iLO 3 processor and access the iLO 3 interface easily.
