Integration with other management tools

iLO 3 integrates with other HP management tools such as HP SIM, Insight Control, and Insight Control for

Linux. This integration gives you easy access to iLO 3 information and capabilities. HP management tools

incorporate standard management protocols to address your requirements for security, interoperability

among heterogeneous platforms, and ease of use.

HP Systems Insight Manager

HP SIM and the HP Insight Management agents let you view subsystem and status information from a web

browser. For example, iLO 3 performs the temperature monitoring for the server hardware and then

forwards this information to the HP Insight Management agents. You can access the information either

through HP SIM or through the iLO 3 interface.

SNMP

You can configure iLO 3 to send SNMP alerts to HP SIM or other SNMP-based management consoles.

Discovery of iLO 3 devices

You can use the query mechanism of HP SIM to discover iLO 3 and store it on a device list. The device list

provides direct hyperlink access to iLO 3 (Figure 6), giving you a single location for accessing all Lights-

Out management devices.
