Several features of the HP Systems Insight Manager Audit Log are configurable enabling the customer

to customize the audited information for their environment. For example, one can specify which tools

log data and the maximum Audit Log file size.

HP SIM Audit Log entries contain the following information:

• Time stamp—Date, time, and time zone

• Category

• Result

• Action

• Object type

• Object type descriptor

• Level

• Session user login string

• Session ID (optional)

• Transaction ID (optional)

• Session user full user name (optional)

• Additional information (usually descriptive text strings) can also be included and is preceded by the

string @!@

The HP SIM audit facility supports several configurable options such as the location and name of the

audit file, maximum size (MB) of the audit trail file and buffer size for queued audit data.
