4. HP Converged Systems for Virtualization
The HP Converged Systems for Virtualization consists of a family of solutions as outlined below:
 CS300 for Virtualization – includes:
o ProLiant DL380p Gen8 rack servers
o 2900 series network switches
o Insight Control VMware ESXi 5.1 with vCenter and vSphere
o HP StoreVirtual VSA
 CS700 for Virtualization – includes:
o ProLiant BL460c Gen8 blade servers
o ProLiant DL360 Gen8 rack server
o 3PAR storage 7200 series
o 5900 series network switches
o Insight Control VMware ESXi 5.1 with vCenter and vSphere
o Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager
Insight RS configuration requires special steps for CS for Virtualization to be performed by HP.
The configuration of Insight RS is part of the initial deployment of CS for Virtualization. If you
need assistance with Insight RS, please contact HP support.
The following configuration has been tested with Insight RS:
CS300 for Virtualization
Currently Supported Monitored Devices:
 ProLiant DL380p Gen8
o Insight RS 7.0.8 Content Level Update 1 or newer is required to support the
DL380p Gen8 server.
o Insight RS v7.0.8 Content Level Update 1 or newer must be configured for
embedded Remote Support event monitoring of DL380p Gen8 via the iLO 4
management processor.
 Configured for embedded Remote Support only (iLO 4) in Insight RS
Components not supported by Insight RS:
 HP 2920AF-48G Switch (due to “stacked” configuration)
 HP 5900AF-48G Switch (due to “stacked” configuration)
 StoreVirtual VSA Storage
Installing Insight RS on HP CS300 for Virtualization:
Note: A Hosting Device with a supported ProLiant Windows-based server is required to host
Insight RS. Insight RS 7.0.8 CLU1 or newer is required.
