Insight Remote Support software uses industry standard security techniques to ensure privacy and security of your data. Overview The HP Insight Remote Support solution is composed of three primary components: Remote Device Monitoring (RDM) Remote Data Collection (RDC) Remote Device Access (RDA) Each of these components is described in this document.
Remote Device Access Remote Device Access allows an HP engineer the ability to securely access your environment to perform additional failure analysis and/or problem resolution. It can also be used by your HP account team to access your environment to deliver proactive support and/or upgrade services. For reactive purposes, once an issue has been identified, a remote support engineer may need access to the failing device to assist with the repair or to collect log files.
RDM and RDC are designed to only require an outbound HTTPS connection. No inbound connections are necessary for these components to function. All connections are made using industry standard SSL/TLS encryption ensuring confidentiality and integrity of the information. X.509 certificates are used to authenticate both ends of the connection before any data is transmitted to the HP RSDC. All communications for event monitoring and data collection are initiated from your enterprise to HP.
