HP Virtual Library Systems

SNMP needs to be configured in Command View for Virtual Library System (VLS) to send traps to the Hosting Device. For

setup instructions, see the HP Insight Remote Support Monitored Devices Configuration Guide available at

www.hp.com/go/insightremotesupport/docs.

Note

Configuration collections are currently not supported, except when the VLS is part of a SAN collection. See Appendix B for

details.

The following HP Virtual Library Systems are supported with this release:

 HP 300 Virtual Library System EVA Gateway

 HP 12000 Virtual Library System EVA Gateway

 HP 9000 Series Virtual Library System

 HP 6000 Series Virtual Library System including:

 HP VLS 6200 and 6500

 HP VLS61xx, VLS65xx and VLS 68xx

HP StoreEver Tape Libraries

HP Insight Remote Support 7.0.9 supports HP StoreEver Tape Libraries that use HP Command View for Tape Libraries

software version 3.1 or above. A copy of the software can be downloaded from www.hp.com/support/cvtl.

Note

Insight RS does not support standalone (non-library) tape drives.

SNMP v1 needs to be configured and enabled for the monitored devices to be able to send events to the Hosting Device. For

instructions on how to configure the tape library management tool to send traps, see the HP Insight Remote Support
