Chapter 35: Configuring Modular Cooling
Systems
Modular Cooling Systems are monitored through the management module that is installed on the Modular
Cooling System. Insight Remote Support automatically detects management modules as part of the
device discovery process. The management module should be installed and running before attempting
discovery.
Important: Configuration collections are not supported.
Fulfill Configuration Requirements
To configure your Modular Cooling Systems to be monitored by Insight RS, complete the following steps:
Task Complete?
Make sure Insight RS supports your Modular Cooling System by checking the HP
Insight Remote Support Release Notes.
Configure SNMP on the Modular Cooling System and set the Hosting Device as a trap
receiver
Add the SNMP protocol to the Insight RS Console.
Discover the Modular Cooling System in the Insight RS Console.
Send a test event to verify connectivity between your Modular Cooling System and
Insight RS.

To configure your monitored devices, complete the following sections:
Configure SNMP on the Modular Cooling System
SNMP must be configured on the Modular Cooling System so that Insight Remote Support can
communicate with it.
To configure SNMP, complete the following steps:
1. Log on to the Modular Cooling System web interface.
2. Navigate to Setup → Management → System Information. The information configured on this
screen included with SNMP traps sent by the management module.
