Chapter 18: Configuring P6000 and Enterprise Virtual Arrays
retains port 5988 if it does not conflict with another port number. SMI-S uses these ports when the HPCIM
Object Manager (CIMOM) process starts.
Note: This screen appears only if a port conflict is detected, which is why HP recommends
installing HP SIM before installing Command View.
The following figure shows an example of the SMI-S installation on an Insight RS Hosting Device that
already has HP SIM installed with WMI Mapper:

After the ports are set, you can verify them by executing the netstat command:
C:\ netstat –anb >netstat.txt
The following output appears:
TCP 0.0.0.0:5988 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 1712 [JavaWrapper.exe]
TCP 0.0.0.0:5989 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 460 [WMIServer.exe]
TCP 0.0.0.0:60000 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 1712 [JavaWrapper.exe]
In this example, SMI-S is set up to use ports 5988 and 60000.
To reset the port numbers if P6000 Command View is already installed:
1. Open the following file:
C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\SMI-S\CXWSCimom\config\cxws.properties
