Insight Remote Support Advanced for NonStop
About This Document
This document describes the NonStop-specific details needed to install and configure HP Insight
Remote Support Advanced for use in a NonStop environment. It is intended as a supplement to,
not a substitute for, the documentation for installing and configuring HP SIM and Insight Remote
Support Advanced. This document provides links to those documents and describes when and how
to perform the additional steps required for the NonStop environment.
Supported Release Version Updates (RVUs)
This topic supports J06.03 and subsequent J-series RVUs, H06.03 and subsequent H-series RVUs,
and G06.15 and subsequent G-series RVUs.
Intended Audience
This document is intended for customers or service providers who will install and configure HP
Insight Remote Support Advanced for use in a NonStop environment.
NOTE: Before starting a migration to Insight Remote Support Advanced, contact your local
NonStop account team. Your account team will contact the Insight Remote Support Advanced team
to schedule, plan, install, configure and test HP SIM and the NonStop components. They will also
collaborate with the GCSC to ensure that the installation is working correctly. There is also a point
in the configuration of Insight Remote Support Advanced (under NonStop-Specific Tasks) at which
you must call the Global Customer Support Center (GCSC) to complete the registration process.
New and Changed Information in This Edition 582661-012
This edition adds the following information:
• Removed the note Insight Remote Support Advanced is supported on a CMS running Windows
2008 Server, as long as the CMS is not also serving as a NonStop system console. in “CMS
Hardware Requirements” (page 6).
• Updated the “CMS Software Requirements” (page 7), “NonStop System Hardware
Requirements” (page 7), and the “CMS Hardware Requirements” (page 6) tables.
• Removed the HotFix Update Kit for HP SIM 5.3 information in Step 1 of Chapter 2 (page 9)
• Added Step 8 Registering for WBEM Alerts and Lifecycle Events of Chapter 2 (page 9).
• Removed step Add a reverse lookup zone for the NonStop server subnet in Chapter 2
(page 9).
• Added “Special Consideration if using ML110 G5 Server-based NonStop System Console as
a CMS” (page 15) in Chapter 2 (page 9).

• A warning, under step 2 of the NonStop-Specific Tasks, not to install the Remote Support
Network Component (RSNC) during installation of Insight Remote Support Advanced version
A.05.50 and later.
• A caution that the WEBES component installed on the CMS as part of the Insight Remote
Support Advanced installation process has a service obligation limit that expires one year
after WEBES has been installed. To determine when your version of WEBES will expire, and
to extend that expiration date for up to five years, see “Extend WEBES Expiration Date”
(page 19).
• A change to one of the commands called for in step 5 of the NonStop-Specific Tasks when
using WEBES version 6.1.
• A list of the incoming ports on the CMS that must be opened for HP SIM and Insight Remote
Support Advanced (under “CMS Hardware Requirements” (page 6)) and a list of the ports
