Insight Remote Support Advanced for NonStop

4 Ongoing Operational Considerations
To ensure uninterrupted remote support services through HP SIM and Insight Remote Support
Advanced, be sure to perform the following tasks, as needed:
“Update Password in HP SIM” (page 19)
“Extend WEBES Expiration Date (page 19)
“Remove Incident Report Delivery Paths for Failed CMS or CMS to be Replaced” (page 20)
Update Password in HP SIM
Whenever you change the password for the user created (under step 7 of NonStop-Specific Tasks)
to establish the WBEM communication between HP SIM and OSM, you will need to update the
credentials in HP SIM as well. Failure to do so can result in dial-outs that are not properly received
in CRG and Genesis.
Extend WEBES Expiration Date
WEBES installed on the CMS as part of the Insight Remote Support Advanced installation process
has a service obligation term that, by default, expires one year after WEBES has been installed.
Upon expiration, incident reports are no longer delivered to the HP support center. The service
obligation term can be extended at any time for up to five years. This section describes how to
check that expiration date and how to extend it through commands on the CMS.
To determine when your WEBES service obligation term will expire, run the following command
from a DOS prompt on the CMS:
wsea status
As illustrated in the example below, the text returned by that command includes the Service
Obligation End Date. In this case, it is set to expire on March 3, 2012, one year after the Service
Obligation Start Date:
C:\>wsea status
System Event Analyzer for Windows V6.1 Patch1 (Build 136)
Service Tools Home: C:\Program Files\HP\svctools
Service Obligation Start Date: Fri Mar 04 07:37:10 MST 2011
Service Obligation End Date: Thu Mar 03 00:00:00 MST 2012
HPSIM notification: enabled
...
You can change your service obligation term, extending the End Date up to five years, as follows:
1. Run the command:
desta servob change
2. Initially, the command returns the following text (the start date is automatically reset to the
current date, the date you ran the command):
WEBES Obligation Change
-----------------------
Service Obligation change date: Fri Mar 04 07:37:45 MST 2011
Service Obligation current state: Valid
Service Obligation current start date: Fri Mar 04 07:37:10 MST 2011
Service Provider Company Name:
3. After responding to prompts to enter “Service Provider Company Name, followed by “Service
Provider Employee Name and “Service Provider Employee ID#, the command displays and
allows you to change the service obligation start and end dates. The start date should remain
the current date. By default, the end date will be one year, minus one day, from the start date.
For a maximum service obligation term, you can add four years to that default value. In the
