Insight Remote Support Advanced for NonStop
d. Select No to the “Delete the failed path” question and click OK.
e. Upon successful completion of the action, the State of the action will be reported as
“Passed.”
The action triggers a Periodic Incident Report. If the system is being monitored by Insight
Remote Support Advanced, HP SIM displays an event on the Event Tab indicating that the
NonStop system incident has been reported. In terms of OSM events and alarms, OSM issues
one of the following EMS events to indicate the success or failure of the IR delivery attempts:
• Event 1102 (An Incident Report has been dialed out to the Support Center) – generated
when IR delivery is successful on at least one path. If another path fails, an alarm is
generated on the System object, with details on the path that failed.
• Event 1103 (An Incident Report has failed to be delivered) – generated when IR delivery
fails on all paths. An alarm is generated on the System object, with details on the failed
paths.
11. Once the Test Incident Report Delivery Paths action has been performed and HP SIM confirms
that the incident has been sent to HP, call the GCSC so that they can update the registration
that was created when this action was performed.
NOTE: To use Insight Remote Support Advanced on a second CMS for a fault-tolerant
configuration, repeat the NonStop-Specific Tasks on the backup CMS.
Special Consideration if using ML110 G5 Server-based NonStop System
Console as a CMS
As described in the HP Insight Remote Support Standard Release Notes, an ML110 G5 used as
both an NSC and as a CMS does not provide self diagnosis. When WEBES synchronizes with
HP SIM, each device/system in HP SIM passed to WEBES is checked against the Business Logic
Rules. The ML110 G5 does not pass the Business Logic Rules, resulting in no managed entity
created in WEBES for the CMS itself. Without a managed entity for the CMS, the WEBES
HealthCheck heart beat events are not analyzed, resulting in E2E detection. If WEBES email
notification is configured on the NSC/CMS, WEBES will report E2E failures at 8 hour intervals.
To prevent E2E notifications, HP recommends that WEBES Health Check be disabled for this
configuration.
To disable WEBES Health Check on an ML110 G5 NonStop System Console, follow these steps:
