Understanding and Using Unreachable
Device Notification (UDN) Service
Unreachable Device Notification (UDN) performs reachability monitoring of HP customers devices
and for properly entitled Mission Critical customers. UDN submits incidents and provides
notifications of unreachable managed systems to HP Support Center and appropriate personnel at
the customer site.
Note: The UDN product can be used locally on your CMS to monitor systems in your
Enterprise. Unless you have a Mission Critical contract and your HP Account Team has
performed additional configuration to UDN, your unreachable device incidents will not be
submitted to HP.
Accessing UDN
Unreachable Device Notification can be configured and managed to monitor the reachability of your
managed systems. To access UDN:
1. Open a web browser from within your network or on the Central Management System (CMS).
2. Enter the URL: https://[CMS_HOST]:2381, where [CMS_HOST] is either the fully
qualified hostname or the IP address of the CMS.
3. The System Management Homepage (SMH) instance on the Central Management Server
(CMS) will load, click on the Unreachable Device Notification link.
4. The Unreachable Device Notification (UDN) homepage will load.
