Operations Guide
Chapter 1: Overview
1. In the HP SIM User Interface, select Options → Protocol Setting → Global Protocol
Settings.
2. Verify that the Enable WBEM box is checked, and then click the Global Credentials link to
go to that screen.
3. In the Global Credentials screen add all the WBEM username and password values required
to connect to the WBEM Providers installed on the managed servers and all the SNMP
community strings needed to connect to the SNMP Agents installed on the managed servers
to be monitored. You may enter as many WBEM username and password combinations and as
many SNMP community strings as needed. Then, click OK.
4. Select Options → Security → Credentials → System Credentials.
Note: The remaining steps are only necessary if you have a particular managed system
with its own distinct WBEM credentials that cannot use the global credentials you have
previously set.
5. In the Systems Credentials screen, search for a system or select from the drop-down list,
select your system, and click Apply.
