Central Management Server Configuration Guide
Appendix A: Insight Remote Support Advanced Packages
downloaded to the CMS, and are also installed onto the CMS.
HP RSSWM Unattended Install Facility
The RSSWM Unattended Install Facility installs a service that allows RSSWM to operate when no one is
logged onto the computer. It allows for unattended installation of all RSSWM infrastructure updates and
unattended installation of any software packages that is allowed through the RSSWM update policy.
RSSWM Infrastructure Package
The RSSWM Infrastructure Package is used to enhance the RSSWM software.
Remote Support Common Components (MC3)
MC3 provides information to uniquely identify the Central Management Server (CMS). MC3 components
are also required on ProLiant systems supporting EVAs as a Storage Management System/Appliance
(SMS or SMA).
Remote Support Client
The HP Remote Support Client is the underlying component that enables two-way secure communication
of hardware event information and configuration data between the CMS to the HP Support Center. This
component is configured by means of the Remote Support Configuration and Services option in HP
SIM and is critical to providing remote support of your managed systems and for running configuration
collections.
Additionally, the Remote Support Client component enables RSCC-related configuration information to be
sent to HP for further analysis to deliver proactive support services. This Client is also needed to activate
the contract, HP Care Pack and the warranty entitlement feature of HP SIM.
Remote Support P4000 Integration Module
The Remote Support P4000 Integration Module provides support for HP StorageWorks P4000 Storage
Systems. This component installs the P4000 Command Line Interface (CLI) and the CLI documentation.
They are can be found under Start All Programs HP LeftHand Networks.
Remote Support Configuration Collector Extension
(RSCCE)
RSCCE extends RSCC by adding remote execution capability for Windows computers. Both RSCC and
RSNC use the remote execution capability of RSCCE to run commands on Windows computers during
data collection and discovery (in the case of RSNC).
Remote Support Eligible Systems List
The Remote Support Eligible Systems List component is actually a rule set that generates a list as it
identifies managed systems that are eligible for remote support services including remote phone-home
monitoring. The Ruleset is based on select system attributes that are identified by HP SIM during the
Discovery process. The output list is updated as new systems are discovered against the rule set.
