Installing Insight Remote Support Advanced
on the Central Management Server
Insight Remote Support Advanced is a plug-in to the HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM) environment
on a Central Management Server (CMS). Before proceeding with the Insight Remote Support Advanced
install, make sure that your CMS has met all of the prerequisites listed in Chapter 1 and that HP SIM is
installed. After ensuring that your CMS meets the requirements detailed in Chapter 1, you can install
Insight Remote Support Advanced on the CMS.
To upgrade Insight Remote Support Advanced, see "Upgrade Insight Remote Support Advanced" below.
To install Insight Remote Support Advanced for the first time, see "Installing Insight Remote Support
Advanced for the First Time " on page 27.
Note: Visual examples in this document are from the HP SIM 7.0 user interface.
Upgrade Insight Remote Support Advanced
To upgrade to version A.05.80 from version A.05.70 you first must upgrade your version of the Remote
Support Software Manager(RSSWM). Then, with the new version RSSWMyou can upgrade your
packages to version A.05.80.
To upgrade Insight Remote Support Advanced from version A.05.70 to version A.05.80, complete the
following steps:
1. Start RSSWM by clicking Start → All Programs → Hewlett-Packard → Remote Support
Software Manager → Remote Support Software Manager User Interface.
2. In the left menu, click Actions. The Actions window appears.
3. Click the Check button in the Check for Package Updates section of the Actions window.
Note: Checking for package updates only updates the list of packages in the Packages window.
It does not apply any software updates.
4. In the left menu, select Packages. The Packages window appears.
