Question 5: Which products are supported by HP Insight Remote Support now
and in the future?
Answer: The comparison table below outlines the supported products for each HP Insight
Remote Support solution. HP intends to release new and enhanced versions of HP Insight
Remote Support that will introduce new products and new features. Refer to the Release Notes
(either HP Insight Remote Support Standard Release Notes or HP Insight Remote Support
Advanced Release Notes) for the most up-to-date list of supported products and what was added
in the latest release.

Question 6: What steps are needed to install HP Insight Remote Support?
Answer: For HP Insight Remote Support Standard you simply follow these high level steps:
1. Identify a suitable HP ProLiant Windows server that can host the HP Insight Remote
Support software. This can be shared with other applications.
2. Prepare your environment using the instructions outlined in the HP Insight Remote Support
Standard Hosting Device Configuration Guide and HP Insight Remote Support Standard
Managed Systems Configuration Guide.
3. Download and install the Insight Remote Support Standard software from HP Software
Depot on the Hosting Device. Note, no software (firmware, patches or drivers) is
automatically downloaded to any device but may be required for monitoring.
4. Configure and check that your Insight Remote Support Standard software is operating
correctly.
For HP Insight Remote Support Advanced you simply follow these high level steps:
1. Identify a suitable HP ProLiant Windows server that can host the HP Insight Remote
Support software and HP Systems Insight Manager. It is recommended that this is a
dedicated server.
2. Prepare your environment using the instructions outlined in the HP Insight Remote Support
Advanced Central Management Server Configuration Guide and HP Insight Remote
Support Advanced Managed Systems Configuration Guide.
3. Download and install the latest version of HP Systems Insight Manager from HP Software
Depot, if not already installed.
5. Download and install the HP Insight Remote Support Advanced software from HP
Software Depot on your Central Management Server. Note, no software (firmware,
patches or drivers) is automatically downloaded to any device but may be required for
monitoring or to enable proactive services.
4. Configure and check that your HP Insight Remote Support Advanced software is
operating correctly.
5. Configure the Remote Support Software Manager on how you want to obtain regular
updates for new features and product coverage.
