Software Prerequisites
Each P4000 Storage System requires HP P4000 SAN/iQ 8.5 or 9.0, but SAN/iQ 9.0 is
recommended
Each P4000 Storage System running SAN/iQ 8.5 requires Patch 10076 to be installed to work with
HP Insight Remote Support Advanced A.05.50 or A.05.60
SNMP needs to be enabled and configured for each P4000 Storage System
Centralized Management Console (CMC) 8.5 or higher
HP Insight Remote Support Advanced A.05.50 or higher including the compulsory Remote Support
P4000 Integration Module
NOTE: For new installations, HP recommends installing the Centralized Management Console
(CMC) on the Central Management Server, but it is also supported on a separate device.

NOTE: SNMP needs to be configured and enabled for the monitored device to be able to send
events to the Central Management Server.
IMPORTANT: HP Insight Remote Support Advanced A.05.50 or higher is replacing LeftHand
Networks’ Service Console (also known as Health Check) as the remote support (or “Phone
Home”) solution for the LeftHand and HP P4000 platforms.
It is recommended to migrate from Service Console to HP Insight Remote support at the earliest
convenience to ensure that there is no disruption of remote support capability, since Service
Console solution will be retired in the first half of 2011. For migration details, please see the HP

IMPORTANT: P4000 collections require the user to configure P4000 protocol group credentials
matching the P4000 Management Group credentials configured through Central Management
Console. These credentials can be read-only. See the “P4000 Storage System Configuration”
chapter in the HP Insight Remote Support Advanced HP StorageWorks P4000 Storage Systems

IMPORTANT: Ensure that you allocate enough disk space for P4000 collections. The required
disk space is dependent on the number of managed systems. For example, if you are managing
ten P4000 Storage systems, it is strongly recommended to allocate an addition of 1GB of free
disk space.
HP StorageWorks P9000/XP Disk Arrays
The HP Insight Remote Support Advanced software provides HP StorageWorks P9000/XP Disk Array
device support for C-Track submissions through the HP Remote Support Client on the Central Management
Server for customers using the Internet connectivity option to HP rather than modem.
The following HP StorageWorks Disk Array devices are supported for Internet connectivity:
