submission to HP.
• Determine the health of the UDN Service.
The status bar at the top of the Unreachable Device Notification window indicates the status of the Unreachable
Device monitoring service. When disabled, no managed systems are monitored by UDN. To enable or
disable UDN monitoring, click either Enable or Disable as appropriate.
3.2 Managing Systems with UDN
By default all Remote Support Eligible Systems (those supportable by Insight Remote Support Advanced) in
your network are added to Unreachable Device Notification with monitoring disabled. Using the Manag e
Devices option on the Unreachable Device Notification window, you can enable or disable Unreachable
Device monitoring of both Remote Support Eligible and non-eligible managed systems. Additionally, you
can add or delete manually added managed systems from the UDN monitoring service and modify the
auto-enable device feature.
To manage systems with UDN:
1. Click Manage Devices from the Unreachable Device Notification window. The Manage Monitored
Devices window displays.
2. Enter the Device name, Description, and Support ID in the fields provided, select the proper device
classifications. If you have the optional information for product number and serial number, enter those
as well.
NOTE: The device classification option allows you to identify the type of support contract assigned
to the device. Contact your HP Account Team representatives for additional configuration steps to
enable UDN to submit incidents to HP. If you are not an HP Mission Critical or Network customer, but
you would like to use the UDN service to manage your own enterprise and the UDN product to notify
