until you have thoroughly read, understood, and implemented the requirements.
1.1 Using the Remote Support Settings Tab to Update Your Client and
CMS Information
NOTE: If you cannot access the Remote Support Configuration and Service option in HP SIM, see
Section A.2: “Troubleshooting Potential Web Browser Issuesfor more information.
The Remote Support Configuration and Service option in HP SIM includes eight tabs. This section focuses
on the Remote Support Settings tab, where you can update your CMS location, administrator contact
information, and your notification options.
To access the Remote Support Settings tab:
1. Open HP SIM from the desktop icon on the CMS.
2. From the Options menu, select the Remote Support Configuration and Services option.
Company information provided under the Settings tab will be included with all events from your enterprise.
Once the appropriate information is entered, you can register the CMS and Remote Support software with
HP. The individual identified in the CMS Administrator Contact Information section in the Settings tab
will receive communications about the HP Remote Support product itself, including news and upgrade
information. Additionally, this person may receive notifications about managed system and CMS event status
changes if email notifications were configured as explained in this chapter.
1.1.1 Updating CMS Location Information
IMPORTANT: Only change this information if you have physically relocated your CMS.
The Company name, address, and time zone information is used by the HP Support Center to identify where
your CMS is physically located. Change this information only if you have physically relocated the CMS.
