Appendix A: Insight Remote Support Advanced Packages
for those managed system types to establish the right communication protocols for the managed
system and the CMS. These procedures are provided in the Insight Remote Support Advanced
Managed Systems Configuration Guide.
The following figure is an example of packages available through the RSSWM application. The version
numbers and installation order are subject to change as new releases become available.
The Installation Proposal column in the RSSWM Packages window indicates whether or not the package
is necessary for the minimum level of Remote Support. The field may include any of the following entries:
l Compulsory – Required for Remote Support functionality or is a dependency for another component.
l Recommended – Indicates the package will install additional services beyond the base level. This
package type is not required for Remote Support functionality.
l Optional – Not required for the minimum level of remote support. These packages are for users with
specific servers or hardware in their environment.
The following Insight Remote Support Advanced components are installed for Remote Support Event
Handling and Entitlement services. All applications are downloaded onto the CMS, and then they are
either installed onto the CMS or distributed to managed systems.
Core Components Installed on the CMS
The following sections explain in greater detail the purpose of each of the Insight Remote Support
