Checking Contract and Warranty Support Levels
This section assumes that you have already registered the Remote Support Client software as directed in
"Registering the Remote Support Client and the CMS" on page 38. This section is a series of validation
steps to verify that your systems, configured for Remote Support, are currently communicating the correct
Entitlement information to the HP Support Center.
This section, and the Contract and Warranty task described within, cover a functionality of HP SIM that
allows you to check the entitlement status of any system in your enterprise against HP's current
entitlement information for your own informational, reporting, and planning business purposes. This is
different from the Remote Support Entitlement Check explained in HP Insight Remote Support Advanced
Operations Guide, in that the Remote Support Entitlement Check (RSEC) functionality validates that
events submitted by an eligible system will pass entitlement and be monitored by the HP Support Center
for support purposes only.
1. In the HP SIM user interface, select Tasks & Logs → View All Scheduled Tasks.
2. In the All Scheduled Tasks window, select the Monthly Contract and Warranty Collection.
3. Click Run Now.
4. To review the results of the task, select the All Systems option in the left navigation panel.
