Verifying CMS Connectivity with HP
HP recommends verifying connectivity to the HP Support Center before installing Insight Remote Support
Advanced to avoid installation failures due to connectivity problems.
During installation there is no specific connectivity check for the Remote Support Client. The Remote
Support Client registration is the first time it attempts to connect to the HP Support Center, and if there are
any problems, the registration will fail. Therefore, verifying connectivity before installation reduces the
chance of registration failure. A comprehensive connectivity check is performed by the RSSWM agent
during installation. This checks communications to HP over both addresses and will use a proxy server if
set.
The following connectivity tests can be performed:
Important: These tests do not verify the CMS or Insight Remote Support Advanced configurations
will actually submit collections or events, but it does validate that the CMS itself can communicate to
HP's servers before you continue configuring the CMS.

services.isee.hp.com
If the IP addresses were configured in the firewall, verify connectivity between the Remote Support
Client and the HP Support Center by using a web browser to connect to the following URLs. The
response should be a version number, for example: ##.##.##.###. Note that on rare occasions a
system may not be accessible due to periodic maintenance and upgrade.
