Chapter 4: Generating Reports on the My
Customers Tab
This chapter describes the customer reports you can access as a channel partner from the Insight Online
My Customers tab. The following table lists the channel partner types and the customer reports each
channel partner can generate on the My Customers tab:

Note: Only devices associated with the Sales and Service Partner ID appear in the report.
Generate Customer Reports
Before you generate customer reports, there are some simple steps that the customer needs to take to
enable your view as a channel partner:
As an HP Authorized Channel Partner, the option to run a report to display configuration of customer
devices appears once the following steps are completed:
l Your customers' devices must be connected to HP for remote support using one of HP's remote
support technologies. These include Insight Remote Support 7.X or Insight Online Direct Connect.
For devices connected through Insight Remote Support:
During or after installation of Insight Remote Support, using the Insight Remote Support Hosting
Device Set-Up Wizard, your customer must:
n Register with HP Support Center to manage their IT environment through HP Insight Online. To do
this, the customer enters their HP Passport ID and Password.
n Associate their devices with their Partner Location ID as an HP Authorized Reseller or HP
Authorized Service Partner. To do this, the customer enters your Location ID.
n Opt-in to share information and allow HP or HP Authorized Channel Partners to contact them to
discuss optimizing their IT environment. To do this, the customer selects the Opt-in check box.
