HP Insight Management WBEM Providers 2.6 for Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 Data Sheet
7 System memory
7-1 Overview
This provider implements the HP Memory Profile and HP Memory Physical Asset Profile to represent
system memory in ProLiant systems.
See the HP Advanced Memory Protection Technologies (TC060104TB) and product documentation
for your ProLiant server (available at http://www.hp.com
).
The following profiles are implemented, and the following files are installed by this provider.

7-2 Use cases
The following sections contain information and diagrams to facilitate understanding of the specific
implementation of the memory providers on ProLiant server platforms. These diagrams are intended to
enhance, but not replace, the use cases shown in the HP Memory Physical Asset Profile to define the
specifics of the class implementation.
The following initial subsection discusses the classes implemented for ProLiant hardware. A class
diagram shows the memory providers class structure from an implementation viewpoint.
The following subsequent subsections describe the hardware and software (memory providers)
containment hierarchy for ProLiant server platforms. The containment hierarchy describes the
relationships between the following:
• Memory modules (DIMMs)
• Memory module slots (the connectors or sockets where Memory Modules are installed)
• Memory boards (a circuit board on which there are memory module slots)
• Memory board slots (the connectors or sockets where Memory Boards are installed)
• The system chassis
