1 What's new? This chapter lists what is new for the HP Version Control Repository Manager 7.3.0 release. HP Version Control Repository Manager (HP VCRM) adds the following enhancements and fixes with the current release: • • 4 Enhancements: ◦ HP Smart Update Manager 6.0 ◦ Simplified Chinese localization Defect fixes: ◦ Prevents VCRM from restarting when e1000-5.2.16b-1.src.rpm is placed in the repository folder without e1000-5.2.16b-1.src.
2 Features and change notification The HP VCRM and the HP VCA are integrated with the HP SMH, which is the standard single-server management tool in the HP Insight Foundation Suite for ProLiant. HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM), also part of the HP Insight Foundation Suite for ProLiant, uses the HP VCRM and the HP VCA to facilitate software versioning, updates, and related tasks.
3 Issues and workarounds The HP VCRM undergoes rigorous testing before releasing any given version of the product. From HP test activities to date, the following items have been uncovered that you should keep in mind. HP VCRM • Issue: Upload Support Pack option fails to upload large components from Service Pack for ProLiant. Description: The Upload Support Pack option in HP VCRM fails to upload components with a size of more than 100 MB. HP VCRM displays the Service Pack for ProLiant as invalid message.
• Issue: The HP VCRM displays a single driver although two drivers are present. Description: Both drivers are displayed in the Software version control table and are shown in the Installed Version column in the HP VCA. The component packs that are affected include the following: • ◦ CP003718—Contains Cpqcissm.sys and Cpqcissme.sys drivers ◦ CP003746—Contains Sysmgmt.sys and Cpqasm.sys drivers ◦ CP003745—Contains Sysmgmt.sys and Cpqasm2.
