Updating the HP SIM cluster settings
Use the following procedure to update the HP SIM cluster settings:
1. Log in to Windows on the primary system as SQL/IM Administrator.
2. Open Failover Cluster Manager on the primary system, in the left pane click Roles, and
confirm that the primary system owns the Systems Insight Manager group, in this white
paper cms-c16-matrix.
3. Open a command prompt window and change the directory path to the Insight shared
drive, in this paper V:\.
4. To ensure that HP SIM is running, execute the following command at the command
prompt:
mxstatus -l
If within five minutes the command does not exit successfully, cancel it and go to the
Services console and start the HP Systems Insight Manager service. Then retry this step.
5. Execute the following command at the command prompt:
mxglobalsettings –s ClusterIp=<CLUSTERvirtualserverIP>
Replace the value <CLUSTERvirtualserverIP> with the IP address of the Cluster
virtual server, 15.199.242.161 (cms-c16-cluster) in this paper.
6. In the same command prompt window, verify the setting:
mxglobalsettings –ld ClusterIp
Do not use a text editor to change the setting. Doing so may corrupt the properties file.
