1 What's new? This chapter lists what is new for the HP Version Control Repository Manager 7.3.1 release. HP Version Control Repository Manager (HP VCRM) adds the following enhancements with the current release: 4 • Support for HP Smart Update Manager 6.2. • Support for VMware components. • Support for RHEL 6.5 OS. • Support for Chrome browser 30.0.1599 and higher (with Active X and IE tab [enhanced] plug-ins).
2 Features and change notification The HP VCRM and the HP VCA are integrated with the HP SMH, which is the standard single-server management tool in the HP Insight Foundation Suite for ProLiant. HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM), also part of the HP Insight Foundation Suite for ProLiant, uses the HP VCRM and the HP VCA to facilitate software versioning, updates, and related tasks.
3 Issues and workarounds The HP VCRM undergoes rigorous testing before releasing any given version of the product. From HP test activities to date, the following items have been uncovered that you should keep in mind. HP VCRM • Issue: HP VCRM displays the Service Pack for ProLiant 2014.02 as invalid. Description: HP VCRM displays the Service Pack for ProLiant 2014.02 as invalid. This is due to the following components missing from Service Pack for ProLiant 2014.
• Issue: Proxy Feature Testing. Description: The following proxy applications were used in the testing of the HP VCRM Automatic Update feature using a proxy server. Most of the testing was with default proxy setups and various security settings. However, different users can define their own site-specific security rules and configure their own proxy servers in many different ways.
