1 What's new? This chapter lists what is new for the HP Version Control Agent release. HP Version Control Agent (HP VCA) adds the following enhancement with the current release: 4 • Support for SPP 2013.02 • Capture logged-in user details for user initiated tasks • Administrator has the exclusive privileges to clear logs • Updated Version Control Agent to include HP Smart Update Manager (HP SUM) Discovery modules version 5.3.
2 Features and change notification The HP VCRM and the HP VCA are integrated with the HP SMH, which is the standard single-server management tool in the HP Insight Foundation Suite for ProLiant. HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM), also part of the HP Insight Foundation Suite for ProLiant, uses the HP VCRM and the HP VCA to facilitate software versioning, updates, and related tasks. 3 Issues and workarounds HP VCA undergoes rigorous testing before releasing any given version of the product. From HP test activities to date, the following items have been uncovered that you should keep in mind. HP VCA • Issue: A system running HP Insight Management Agents on a named Windows 2003 account, the HP VCA upgrade does not finish successfully. Description: The HP VCA is designed to be installed and running on the local system account on Windows for performing installation tasks.
