2 Installing or upgrading HP OneView for Microsoft System
Center
HP OneView for Microsoft System Center is composed of several different integration kits and
features, each of which have their own installation requirements and procedures.
• For information about the HP SCVMM 2012 Console Integration Kit, see the HP SCVMM
2012 Console Integration Kit User Guide.
• For information about the features provided by the HP SCOM Management Packs, see the
HP SCOM Management Packs User Guide.
• For information about the features provided by the HP OneView Management Packs, see the
HP OneView Management Packs User Guide.
• For information about the features provided by the HP SCCM 2007 Integration Kit, see the
HP ProLiant SCCM 2007 Integration Kit User Guide.
• For information about the features provided by the HP SCVMM 2012 Integration Kit, see the
HP ProLiant SCVMM 2012 Integration Kit User Guide.
• For information about migrating from the HP BladeSystem Enclosure Monitor Manager (EMM)
and the HP BladeSystem Enclosure Monitor Service (EMS), which were included with 1.x
versions of the HP BladeSystem Management Pack, to the HP Device Monitor Console (DMC)
and HP Device Monitor Service (DMS), see the HP SCOM Management Packs User Guide.
NOTE: The HP DMC and the HP DMS replace the HP EMM and the HP EMS, which were
included with 1.x versions of the HP BladeSystem Management Pack. If you plan to use any
management pack that uses HP DMS, you must upgrade from HP BladeSystem Management
Pack version 1.x (from EMM and EMS to DMC and DMS).

Microsoft System Center, consider using the HP ProLiant Updates Catalog, which follows the
update model used for HP Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) and replaces the HP Server Updates
Catalog.
The updates catalog is not provided on the HP OneView for Microsoft System Center DVD:
• To download and install the HP ProLiant Updates Catalog (recommended), see the HP ProLiant
Updates Catalog User Guide.
• To download and install the HP Server Updates Catalog, see the HP Server Updates Catalog
User Guide.
IMPORTANT: Before inserting the HP OneView for Microsoft System Center DVD and starting
the installation, examine the user guide for the features you are installing and ensure that
prerequisites are met, that you are logged on with appropriate privileges, and that applications
that must be closed are closed.
