2 Installing or upgrading HP Insight Control for Microsoft
System Center
HP Insight Control for Microsoft System Center is composed of several different integration kits and
features, each of which have their own installation requirements and procedures.
• For information about the features provided by the HP SCOM Management Packs, see the
HP SCOM Management Packs User Guide.
• For information about the features provided by the HP SCCM 2007 Integration Kit, see the
HP ProLiant SCCM 2007 Integration Kit User Guide.
• For information about the features provided by the HP SCCM 2012 Integration Kit, see the
HP ProLiant SCCM 2012 Integration Kit User Guide.
• For information about the features provided by the HP SCVMM Integration Kit, see the HP
ProLiant SCVMM 2012 Integration Kit User Guide.
• For information about the HP ProLiant Updates Catalog, see the HP ProLiant Updates Catalog
User Guide.
• For information about the HP Server Updates Catalog, see the HP Server Updates Catalog
User Guide. If you are updating your environment from previous versions of HP Insight Control
for Microsoft System Center, consider using the HP ProLiant Updates Catalog, which follows
the update model used for HP Service Pack for ProLiant and replaces the HP Server Updates
Catalog.
The updates catalog is not provided on the HP Insight Control for Microsoft System Center DVD:
• To download and install the HP ProLiant Updates Catalog (recommended), see the HP ProLiant
Updates Catalog User Guide.
• To download and install the HP Server Updates Catalog, see the HP Server Updates Catalog
User Guide.
IMPORTANT: Before inserting the HP Insight Control for Microsoft System Center DVD and starting
the installation, examine the user guide for the features you are installing and ensure that
prerequisites are met, that you are logged on with appropriate privileges, and that applications
that must be closed are closed.
To begin the installation of other features provided by HP Insight Control for Microsoft System
Center, follow these steps:
1. Insert the DVD.
The welcome screen is displayed.
NOTE: If the installer does not start automatically, run Autorun.exe from the DVD.
2. From the Install tab, click Install.
3. From the Installation dialog box, choose the product to install:
• To install the HP SCOM Management Packs, including features such as the DMC, DMS,
and Tools, under Microsoft System Center Operations Manager, click HP SCOM
Management Packs.
• To install the HP SCCM 2007 Integration Kit, under Microsoft System Center Configuration
Manager, click HP SCCM 2007 Integration Kit.
• To install the HP SCCM 2012 Integration Kit, under Microsoft System Center Configuration
Manager, click HP SCCM 2012 Integration Kit.
• To install the HP SCVMM Integration Kit, under Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine
Manager, click HP SCVMM 2012 Integration Kit.
