Limitations
DMC cannot connect to the DMS instance outside of its domain
To connect to the DMS instance on the different domain using DMC, you must establish a two-way
trust relationship between the two domains.
The domain user, where the DMC is installed, must be granted the following access permissions
to DMS resources on the different domain:
• Full domain access to the registry key located at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\
Hewlett-Packard\HP SCOM Management Packs\HPDeviceMonitorService
• Read/write/execute permissions to the HP Device Monitor Service folder located at %Program
Files%\HP SCOM Management Packs\HP Device Monitor Service. Ensure that
all files in the HP Device Monitor Service folder have read/write/execute permissions, including
CSDataLayer.dll.
Insight Control for System Center displays incorrect OS information for several Microsoft Windows
Server operating systems
This is a limitation of the HP Insight Control for Microsoft System Center 7.3.2 release and the HP
ProLiant Agentless Management Service for Windows. The Agentless Management Pack and the
Device Monitor Console might report incorrect operating system information for the following
Microsoft Server operating systems:
• Windows Server 2008
• Windows Server 2008 R2
• Windows Server 2012
• Windows Server 2012 R2
The HP ProLiant Agentless Management Service for Windows version 9.50 and the Agentless
Management Pack in 7.3.2 may not report the Microsoft Windows Server OS information correctly.
The suggested workaround is to update the HP Insight Control for Microsoft System Center to its
next version when available, and update the HP ProLiant Agentless Management Service for
Windows to later than version 9.50 when available.
