Control Tower Management Appliance requirements
The Control Tower Management Appliance, the server on which the HP Insight Control Linux Edition software is
installed, must meet the following requirements.
CAUTION: Any data on the server is permanently deleted during the Insight Control Linux Edition software
installation.

Software None. The installation of a Control Tower Management Appliance includes a complete Linux-based
operating system, database, and necessary services to fully manage all target servers. No additional
licenses or components are required or supported.

If the intended Control Tower Management Appliance is a ProLiant BL20p G3 server blade with a QLogic or Emulex Fibre
Channel card, remove the card during the HP Control Tower software installation. Reinstall the card after the installation is
complete.

If HP Control Tower is installed on any server blade, the server blade cannot be registered or managed by Control Tower.
Also, remote management of this server using Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) must be accomplished by resources other than
Control Tower.

A single-processor Control Tower Management Appliance supports up to 250 target servers. A dual-processor Control
Tower Management Appliance supports up to 1,000 target servers.
