As long as the host, path, username, and password specified in the Set Media Source step match the names and paths
used when creating the media server, the OSBPs should work without problem.
The IC server provisioning appliance has a user interface for configuring the Media Server settings, and the IC server
provisioning Media Server Setup Utility to automatically configure a Windows Media Server. This utility ensures the
locations specified in the HP-provided OSBPs match the locations on the Media Server. Using the appliance user
interface and setup utility will ensure the HP-provided OSBPs run without modification.
Media Server Custom Attributes
Media Server information is passed to the HP-provided OSBPs using special custom attributes that represent the URI of
the Media Server. These custom attributes are automatically defined when the Media Server information is entered on
the Media Server Setup screen. They are used as parameters to the Set Media Source step in the OSBPs to point to the
appropriate location.
There is one set of custom attributes used for the Windows share, and one for the HTTP base address. The Windows
Share Custom Attributes are:
@__OPSW-Media-WinUser@@__OPSW-Media-WinPassword@@__OPSW-Media-WinPath@
Note: The three custom attributes combine together to create the single SMB URI
The HTTP URL Base Custom Attribute is:
@__OPSW-Media-LinURI@
Specific descriptions of these custom attributes can be found in Table 1.

Windows deployments
@x.x.x.x/sharename
__OPSW-Media-LinURI Media Server Linux URI for Linux
and ESXi deployments

These custom attributes are built into the appliance as a convenience. OSBPs can be edited and those custom attributes
can be replaced by hard coded values or user-defined custom attributes. As long as the URI provided to the Set Media
Source step matches the location of the media, the OSBPs should work. Creating user-defined custom attributes will
allow multiple media servers to be defined where each build plan can reference a different location.
Default HP Media Server Layout
The HP-provided OSBPs are designed with specific Media Server directory structure. If the Media Server is configured
using this directory structure and naming conventions, then the OSBPs will run without modification. The HP
recommended Media Server layout is:
• The top level directory under which all files in the Media Server reside. This directory can have any name and is
also the top level directory that is shared by the SMB (Windows File Share) protocol.
• Under the top level directory are two subdirectories named Media and Images.
