11 Users
11.1 About user roles
User login accounts on the Insight Control server provisioning appliance must be assigned at least
one role. Roles determine what the user account has permission to view and do. For instance, a
Server Administrator cannot edit an OS Build Plan.
The following are the roles provided with IC server provisioning:
Infrastructure Administrator / Full Administrator
all privileges are granted
Server Administrator
run OS Build Plans
add, delete, and modify servers
cannot modify content (OS Build Plans, scripts, configuration files, or packages)
cannot manage users
cannot change appliance settings
Backup Administrator
can only perform backup and restore operations
provided for use with backup and restore scripting so Infrastructure Administrator credentials
do not have to be saved in a script
you cannot log into the appliance with these accounts
Read Only
may only view appliance information
