10.19 Update the appliance
Use this procedure to update the software components of your appliance.
Prerequisites
• Minimum required privileges: Infrastructure Administrator
• Ensure no other users are logged in to the appliance
Procedure 52 Updating the appliance
1. From the Settings screen, select Actions→Update appliance.
2. Go to http://www.hp.com/go/insightupdates and locate any update files for the appliance.
The update file will be a large encrypted file; the file name has the .bin extension.
Download the update file to your local computer.
NOTE: If you use Microsoft Internet Explorer 10 to upload a file type other than .bin, the
loading will stop and the file will be deleted.
3. Upload the update file from your local machine to the appliance by either of the following
methods:
• Drag the update file and drop it in the designated area of the Update Appliance screen.
NOTE: Some versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer do not support this method.
• Click Upload file, browse to find the update file, and select it.
The appliance validates the update file after you download it.
If the update file is invalid or if there is insufficient disk space, the appliance deletes the update
file, and displays the errors.
4. Click Install update.
If the installation fails, the appliance reverts back to its previous state, then reboots.
5. If required, the appliance is rebooted, and the appliance reverts to the login screen.
Log in to the appliance. The new appliance version is displayed on the Settings screen.
